MID 1960s

Cross my Heart worn by Nicole

Black and white shift dress in a-line inspired by Rudi Gernreichs 1960s "cross-my-heart" dresses. It's an elaborate pattern in matt black and white high quality fabric. You can read a white "X" at the front, a white "V" on each side. White edged v-neck at the front, round neckline at the back, white lining.

On the first picture the dress is worn by the lovely Nicole Wilson at the Paula Cooper Gallery in Chelsea, NYC. Nicole is a real 1960s lover, designer and stylist. She writes a beautiful retrolicious blog called darlingindots in which grünten mode got featured. The article makes us proud as Nicole has a lot of good words to say about grünten mode's craftsmanship and style. Nicole's cute instagram feed is worth a look, too! (Wallpaintings in the back by Sol Lewitt.)

Nicole wears size M, the other pics show size S. 72% PL, 23% VI, 5% EA. Fine washing 30°C.
